Born in Tachikawa, Japan, Sensei Ishimaru has made karate do his life. Studying karate do for over 37 years  Sensei Ishimaru is a certified instructor with the JKF.

His focus with students is mastery of technical precision and adherence to etiquette of Japanese traditions. 

 Ishimaru Sensei is a 5th Degree Black Belt. 

With over 100 students in various neighborhoods in Portland, Oregon Sensei Bettina Ishimaru is committed to providing instruction in the art of Karate Do to all children and adults. Working with Portland Parks and Recreation, Metropolitan Family Services, the Urban League and Cascadia Behavior Services karate-do can now be embraced by all children regardless of their social economic circumstances.  Bettina Sensei is a certified instructor with the JKF and is a 4th Degree Black Belt.

Keeping children. women, and teens safe and strong is her goal.
